Tesla Motors is a California based electric automobile company focusing on the production of high performance, consumer-oriented battery electric vehicles.

Tesla Motors is named after the electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla and was incorporated in July 2003 by engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning in San Carlos, California.
Tesla Motors’ electric cars come in two models at this time, however more are in the design stages and looking to be brought into production soon.

The Tesla Roadster, a pure electric car that can go from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds, can drive over 244 miles per charge(392 kilometres!), has a carbon fiber body and costs only pennies per mile.

The Tesla Motors S is another pure electric car that can travel up to 300 miles (482 kilometres!) on one charge. With a 45 minute QuickCharge this electric car can go 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and has more cargo space that most sedans.
